Master and PhD Scholarship Programmes at University of Oslo

The Norwegian government offers some scholarship programmes for international students interested in studying in Norway. Please note that these scholarships are only available for postgraduate students on the master and Ph.D. levels, and are very competitive. See below for more information about these programmes. There are no scholarships available for bachelor degree students.

Also, grants and scholarships may be available through short-term mobility programmes. Usually, these are grants that are awarded automatically if you are admitted to the programme. For more information about this, please see our web page for exchange programmes and bilateral agreements.

If you are not qualified for any of these scholarships, you may be eligible for other scholarships offered by public or private institutions in your home country. Unfortunately, the University of Oslo is unable to help you with information about this.

At present I am employed with Livelihoods and Forestry Programme a Bilateral Programme of Government of Nepal and
Government of UK, as Enterprise Development Officer.

Micro and small enterprises are crucial for economic development, income generation, import substitution & employment creation in poor countries like Nepal. Major problem faced by the small enterprise sector are lack of enterprise management skill, over-estimation of market, lack in market information, lack on international marketing and business, gap in matching skill and business, lack of sound entrepreneurship skills, lack of knowledge in value chain.

Although there are so many problems faced by the small enterprise sector of Nepal, different initiation has been made by Government of Nepal and some other donor. Still Nepal lacks qualified humen resource for promoting small and micro enterprises in poor as well as communities of remote areas.

Currently, I feel I have to further my knowledge for doing better in my professional career, and that will be a great achievement for me, my organization, my nation as well as the development sector of Nepal. I could contribute more in the secotor of enterprise evelopment in the level of poor, deprived and excluded people of Nepal. Therefore, I

When I completed my five years university studies at jimma university Medical science faculty, school of pharmacy.

I was employed under SRHB(Somali state regional health be roué) in one of the facilities under it(Jijiga Health Science College) to discharge my professional duties and responsibilities as a pharmacy department chair person and as an instructor. I served this community as an academic pharmacist for about 9months then upon the request of the nearby and newly established university (JJU) in the region I was transferred to play my professional role as an instructor of pharmacology, Biochemistry and other related courses for undergraduate Nurses and public health students(in east Africa its known as Health officers), After I joined the university almost for about a year it was my most challenging times in my new life b/se the university was newly established with less human resources. so all duties and responsibilities of the college were also left on my shoulder as the pharmacy department was established by my great effort while I was in the college, so that my day and night dream was all about how to strengthen the newly established pharmacy department at the college as well as the health faculty at JJu, just not only to be an instructor at both places.

In terms of research, so far except my undergraduate thesis, as there is no research oriented fertile scientific ground in the university and insignificant senior experts to consult with, I did not do any scientific research apart from the curricular activities. However my academic background as a pharmacology instructor, role to establish the pharmacy department and my significant role to strengthen the public health faculty and the scarcity of human resources in the region particularly in my profession make apparent to me that a masters program in in clinical pharmacy/pharm D and public health is the most appropriate for me in further facilitating my career development. For this reason I would like to apply for masters of clinical pharmacy or MPH program concentrating on nutrition.

I am interested in studying at your University of clinical pharmacy or public health in Norway(Oslo), because, I believe it can give me an unparalleled education on clinical pharmacy or public health particularly on nutrition. More over, your university has long enjoyed prestigious academic positions and has been doing pioneering work in improving health service system and reducing health risks throughout the world including my home country Ethiopia. I am motivated to be exposed to innovative research and high level academic training to acquire effective skills in clinical pharmacy or nutrition and scientific techniques

A systematic education at your university will be vital for my future career as a senior clinical pharmacy or public health expert in that it will allow me to incorporate the Nowey’s clinical pharmacy or public health experience with Ethiopia’s realities. I will be able to perform some creative work in improving Ethiopians existing pharmacy or public health system particularly the patient oriented pharmacy practice and the out going malnutrition Cates trophy.
